Food Delivery Services for F&B Business Owners in Malaysia (2021)

Running an F&B business in Malaysia can be tough these days. With restrictions on physical activity in place, revenues from dine-in customers can become unpredictable.

While not a perfect replacement, offering delivery for your business can bring in much needed revenues to keep your business afloat in trying times.

Although foodpanda and GrabFood may be the first two brands that come to mind when F&B business owners think about “food delivery”, they are definitely not the only options available.

In this article, I’ll share with you all the options available for F&B business owners who want to offer food delivery, including non-platform options.

Let’s jump right into it:

Platform food delivery service partners

Platform food delivery partners provide you with a few things:

  • Exposure to their customer base in a food marketplace
  • Delivery order system
  • Payment collection
  • Delivery riders

It’s usually free to sign up with platform food delivery partners. The downside of putting your business on a platform is that they usually take a hefty fee, which can easily eat into your profit margins.

Let’s take a look at the most popular platform delivery partners in Malaysia:

Conclusion

Whether you choose to list on a platform, or run the delivery yourself, there’s no denying that having a delivery system in place can massively help your business during the pandemic season.

While listing on a platform can give your business more exposure, you’ll usually need to pay a high commission. However, they are usually free to sign up.

On the other hand, if you have an online store where customers can select delivery as an option, you can partner with food delivery services instead.
