Inside this review

Do you want to start accepting payments through your WhatsApp account?

If you are a registered business in Singapore, you might be able to very soon. WhatsApp launched in-app payments for merchants in Singapore beginning 9th May, 2023.

In this article, I’ll explain how the in-app payments in WhatsApp works and how you can enable it for your business.

Why Accept Payments on WhatsApp?

If you’re like most business owners in Singapore, WhatsApp is one of the primary ways your customers reach you.

When your customers can pay you right inside WhatsApp, they don’t need to go to another platform just to do that. It’s less friction which means more sales for you.

Other than that, WhatsApp Payments eliminates the need for small business owners to set up an online storefront. You can upload all the product details on a social platform such as Instagram or Facebook, and your customers can then make payment through WhatsApp to complete an order.

For now, there’s no transaction fees for using WhatsApp Payments and no limits for the transaction size.
